The hand-painted dragon head on the handle is way more detailed than I expected from photos. Blade came sharp enough to slice tomatoes cleanly, and the sculpted stand actually holds it upright without wobbling. Glad I grabbed one before the 497 run sold out.
Wasn't sure about spending this much on a knife I'd never actually cut with, but the hand-painted dragon detail on the blade is genuinely stunning in person. The sculpted stand holds it at a nice angle on my shelf, and the weight of the steel feels serious.
The number on the stand makes it feel like owning a piece of history, and the knife's heft is surprisingly balanced for an 8.5-inch blade. It's pricier than my other kitchen gear, but knowing only 497 exist and it's officially licensed sells it for me as a collector's centerpiece.
